In implementation of the programmes approved at various meetings of the Governing Council/Bureau held during 1993 - 2010, the Centre has organised 77 workshops; courses, training programmes, meetings and conferences in 16 different countries, namely, Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Malawi, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia. The Centre has been implementing various scientific activities, which include, inter alia:

The workshop and training programmes provide: 

•        Scientist-to-scientist and institution-to-institution contacts;

•        Familiarization of scientists with the latest developments and techniques in the subject;

•        Identification of areas of training and expert assistance;

•        Identification of collaborative projects between member countries; and

•        Identification of technologies, which may be negotiated between them
