As per Statute of the Centre, a Governing Council (GC), composed of all the member countries of the Centre, looks after the affairs of the Centre.

The Governing Council has so far held eleven meetings as below:

2nd GC Meeting: New Delhi (India), 15-16 March 1990

3rd GC Meeting: Havana (Cuba), 13-15 February 1991

4th GC Meeting:  Cairo (Egypt), 17-18 February 1992

5th GC Meeting:  New Delhi (India), 12-13 April 1993

6th GC Meeting: Kathmandu (Nepal), 12-13 March 1994

7th GC Meeting:  Cairo (Egypt), 2-3 May 1996

8th GC Meeting:  Dhaka (Bangladesh), 8-9 November 1997

9th GC Meeting:  New Delhi (India), 15-16 November 1999

10th GC Meeting: Cairo (Egypt), 14-15 December 2002

11th GC Meeting: Jakarta/Bandung (Indonesia), 21-24 November 2005

An Extraordinary Meeting of the GC was held in New Delhi on 21st August 1989.

 

As per Statute of the Centre, for each session of the Governing Council a President, two Vice-Presidents and a Rapporteur are elected. These office bearers constitute the Bureau of the Governing Council. 

The office of the President of the Governing Council has been held / is being held by:

The Bureau of the GC, if required, may meet in between the GC meetings. Thus in order to review the programmes and activities of the Centre, the Bureau held its interim meetings in New Delhi in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1999 and 2003, in Colombia in 1997, in Indonesia in 2000, in Mauritius in 2001, in Sri Lanka in 2004, in Cuba in 2006 and in Zambia in 2008.

 

The Secretariat of the Centre is centrally located at New Delhi, India in its own premises. Director is the Executive Head of the Centre and is appointed by the Governing Council.

Besides the above staff, the Centre employs fresh science post-graduates on monthly stipend basis until such time as they get suitable employment elsewhere, subject to a maximum tenure of 3 years with the Centre. Currently the following Scientific Assistants are working in the Centre. Through this arrangement the Centre is helping in capacity building in scientific affairs without gender bias.
